Lisbeth B. Schorr, Director Project on Effective Interventions

Lisbeth Schorr’s work has focused over the last three decades on “what works” in social policies and programs to improve outcomes for disadvantaged children and families. Most recently she and her colleagues at the Pathways Mapping Initiative have been exploring novel approaches to assembling and organizing actionable information to help communities solve urgent social problems.

www.PATHWAYSTOOUTCOMES.ORG contains a uniquely broad, deep, and coherent collection of findings about what it takes to improve the lives of children and families living in America's tough neighborhoods. Pathways now available are to the outcomes of School Readiness and Family Economic Success.

COMMON PURPOSE: Strengthening Families and Neighborhoods to Rebuild America, published by Doubleday in 1997, lays out the evidence that when communities act strategically, focus on results, and put together what works in a supportive climate, they strengthen children and families, and rebuild communities.
